      This feature will be a game changer. Help Spine 2D break all its limits, users will create unbelievable rigs like Live2D. I think it's a performance issue for the game engine so Esoteric Software doesn't develop this feature, but if possible, this is the best feature of Spine 2D. If there was also a motion blur feature, things would be crazy

    This is not very intuitive. You also need to build a custom version of the engine every time a new version comes out. Since its made FOR Godot you have to use it as Godot is intended to use, not create separate workflows for each feature. For example: The spine bones should be converted to Godot Bone2D, the animations should be imported as regular Godot animations (that can be edited with keyframes inside the editor) The SpineSlotNode is already present in Godot as a BoneAttachment. Why create separate nodes and overcomplicate things when Godot already provides those tools??

    • @EsotericSoftware
      @EsotericSoftware 23 дні тому

      The reason why we took this route is explained in the blog post when spine-godot was released, so please refer to that: esotericsoftware.com/blog/spine-godot-runtime-released

    • @inculetbogdan
      @inculetbogdan 23 дні тому

      @@EsotericSoftware there is nothing explained there, its only a quick presentation and the custom build is referred to as a small downside, its not small its a HUGE downside and probably the reason a lot of godot users will not use spine2d for the animations

    • @EsotericSoftware
      @EsotericSoftware 23 дні тому

      @@inculetbogdan As mentioned in the blog post, GDNative and its successor GDExtensions do not expose all the editor APIs we need, so the only option, at least for now, is to create a custom build. Some tasks are better with FK or IK. Mixing allows you to turn off IK and use FK for some movements. Often the time between FK and IK is short and the mix is only used to make the transition smooth.
